I am very passionate about print design from the 1950’s and am often influenced by the wallpapers and home furnishing designs produced during this time. As a result I was keen to attend the Designing Women: Post-War British Textiles exhibition, currently held at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London. It features the print designs of renowned designers and pioneers of this time including Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag and Marian Mahler.
Mary White, Coppice, 1954
Mary Warren, Nautilus, 1955
The exhibition has inspired my next commercial print design project, which will feature British architecture and commemorate 2012 as the year of Britain!
