Imperial Mono comes to DesignJunction

London Design Festival is only a hop, skip and a jump away and I’m delighted to be taking part this year. My Imperial Mono fabric will be exhibited at DesignJunction, on the Design Event stand F52. It will feature alongside a collection of innovative, contemporary homeware by new designers from the North (detailed here).

Imperial Mono Close Up

In preparation for the event, I thought I’d share the story behind Imperial…

As a Manchester based designer I didn’t have to travel far in search of inspiration for this geometric pattern, which is influenced by the Media City Swing Bridge in Salford. I was keen to document some of Media City’s development in a textile design and was particularly fascinated with the structure of this footbridge. So after lots of sketching and compositional experimentation, Imperial was created. The design now comes in three colours: Monochrome, green and more recently vintage mustard. It is available on fabric by the metre, cushions, lampshades and tea towels.

I hope that’s enough to tempt you to visit DesignJunction and see the Imperial Mono fabric in all its glory. I’ll also be there with my new swatch book bursting with fabrics from every collection, including the latest Prism range (out on Monday 1st September). Do pop by and say hello!

‘Home Is In The North’ – A brand new interiors event coming to Manchester

I’m exhibiting at the first ever Home is In The North event on April 26th! The event is taking place at Halle St Peters in the Ancoats area of the city and it promises to be an interior event like no other. Not only are there 30 fabulous independent designer-makers selling their wares, but there will also be a number of interactive workshops going on throughout the day and some yummy food stalls too!

Home is Flyer There’s already plenty of buzz around the event. This heightened recently thanks to a pop-up photoshoot around the city, where many of the exhibitors (myself included) created homely settings with their products in various locations in Manchester. The professional photographs are now being used to promote the event, but I’m pleased to show you some of the behind the scenes shots I captured myself, to give you a flavour of what to expect!

For more information and to purchase your advance tickets please visit Home Is In The North. Hope to see you there!
