New California Collection Out Now!

It’s been a long time in the making (as I wanted to make it perfect), so I’m delighted and proud to introduce my new California home textiles collection at last!

The new designs are strongly influenced by my time spent exploring California, during my honeymoon in 2015, so this range is particularly close to my heart. (Hence why I have already decked out my new house with it!). The collection features sunset brights, stunning pastels and bold textured motifs on fabrics, scatter cushions and lampshades – all inspired by the bright colours of the Californian coastline and the mid-century delight that is Palm Springs!

This time I am also introducing a new cushion style to the range too. Sophisticated rectangular cushions (51cm x 30cm) are now here to complement the square design (45 x 45 cm) and I think they make a great addition!

So less of the chat and time for some pics I think… Here’s a little preview of what you can expect from my new range, which you can now shop from Etsy and Notonthehighstreet.com. I hope you like it!

Introducing Hemlock Midnight Fabric & Accessories

I’m delighted to let you know that my popular Hemlock fabric is now available in a new shade. It’s called Hemlock Midnight and if you’re a fan of warm greys, mustard and teal then this one’s for you!

Hemlock New Draped W

Hemlock is a striking, mid-century modern, floral print with a geometric twist. You can find both colour-ways on furnishing fabric, wallpaper and scatter cushions in my online shop.

Top Tip! Pair Hemlock Midnight with my Imperial Diamond Mustard home accessories for an eye-catching combination.

Don’t forget to check out my Look Book for other fabrics in my collection! Complementary fabric samples are available on request, so do get in touch if you’d like to see how the designs look in your home.

My Newly Revamped Screen

I recently acquired a lovely antique screen and knew straight away it would make the perfect accessory for displaying some of my fabrics, as well as being a great addition to my new home. I’m due to move in a few months time, so I set to work giving it an Annabel Perrin makeover. I’m pleased to share the before and after shots with you now.

The screen had been re-upholstered but it was a little rough around the edges, as you can see! I spent hours stripping down layers of fabric and removing countless staples and tacks – most of which were rusty and rather stubborn! But I was eventually left with a good sturdy frame to work with. After adding a layer of calico to support my fabric, I began to re-cover the frame in some of my own designs.

I chose four fabrics that I think look brilliant and bold together – Spectrum, Imperial Diamond Mono, Flowerpress and Glasshouse and a bright orange trim to frame the patterns (and hide the tacks of course!).

What do you think? I’m delighted with it and cant wait to show it off at future shows and also in my new house!

Objects of desire

If you’ve been paying attention to my Instagram page recently, you may have seen teasers of my collaboration with new online retailer Object, who opened their virtual shop doors last Thursday.

Object showcases a stunning selection of luxurious, feminine products for your home, wardrobe and wedding, all sourced from independents around the world. When founder Rachael approached me to request some Object exclusive homeware, I couldn’t wait to accept the brief and begin the task. It is therefore with great pleasure I introduce three of my popular designs, but as you’ve never seen them before…

Geometric Triangles, Imperial and Canopy have been given an ‘Object’ twist! They are now available as limited edition cushions in Object’s branded colours of smoke, gold and rose, alongside a little coral. because. well. I couldn’t resist adding one of my signature brights to at least one of the designs!

DesignJunction Highlights

I’m back up north after a busy and exciting few days in London for the Design Festival. It’s time to share some of my favourite things from my time at Design Junction…

1. The Design Event Stand

This was of course the main reason for my visit… to help man the Design Event stand, which showcased new products by 10 designers from the north, including me!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand for a chat and to browse the work on display. I think you’ll agree the stand look fantastic, all thanks to the hard work of Design Event and Xsite Architecture. There will be another chance to see more of our work at the Baltic Centre of Contemporary Art from 26th September until 22nd October.

2. Demonstrations

Whilst exploring DesignJunction, it was great to see so many demonstrations taking place. Waterford were cutting their cut-glass and Bert & May were creating tiles, using the winning design from their ‘Design-a-tile’ competition with RIBA. A few stands away from us Philippe Malouin were demonstrating their random pattern generator. Visitors could roll dices of geometric shapes and colours to determine which part of the pattern should be printed next.

3. Pop-Up Shops

There were plenty of Pop Up shops on the ground floor of DesignJunction and it’s safe to say I’ve added a few things to my Christmas list since! Friends and family take notice, I would like…

4. Lighting, lighting, lighting!

I was in total awe of the innovative lighting to be seen this year. Some that stood out in particular were:

Starry Light by Anagraphic. This handcrafted lamp illuminates the walls with different starry constellations, and can be customised to a specific date or location. What a perfect birthday or anniversary present this could make!!

Foldability’s stand wasn’t too far way and her handmade lighting using traditional folding techniques kept catching my eye!

The extravagant brass and fine crystal lighting by Martin Huxford also blew me away.

The Anglepoise & Paul Smith collaboration was another favourite of mine; I think it would sit very nicely on my desk!
