New California Collection Out Now!

It’s been a long time in the making (as I wanted to make it perfect), so I’m delighted and proud to introduce my new California home textiles collection at last!

The new designs are strongly influenced by my time spent exploring California, during my honeymoon in 2015, so this range is particularly close to my heart. (Hence why I have already decked out my new house with it!). The collection features sunset brights, stunning pastels and bold textured motifs on fabrics, scatter cushions and lampshades – all inspired by the bright colours of the Californian coastline and the mid-century delight that is Palm Springs!

This time I am also introducing a new cushion style to the range too. Sophisticated rectangular cushions (51cm x 30cm) are now here to complement the square design (45 x 45 cm) and I think they make a great addition!

So less of the chat and time for some pics I think… Here’s a little preview of what you can expect from my new range, which you can now shop from Etsy and Notonthehighstreet.com. I hope you like it!

My Newly Revamped Screen

I recently acquired a lovely antique screen and knew straight away it would make the perfect accessory for displaying some of my fabrics, as well as being a great addition to my new home. I’m due to move in a few months time, so I set to work giving it an Annabel Perrin makeover. I’m pleased to share the before and after shots with you now.

The screen had been re-upholstered but it was a little rough around the edges, as you can see! I spent hours stripping down layers of fabric and removing countless staples and tacks – most of which were rusty and rather stubborn! But I was eventually left with a good sturdy frame to work with. After adding a layer of calico to support my fabric, I began to re-cover the frame in some of my own designs.

I chose four fabrics that I think look brilliant and bold together – Spectrum, Imperial Diamond Mono, Flowerpress and Glasshouse and a bright orange trim to frame the patterns (and hide the tacks of course!).

What do you think? I’m delighted with it and cant wait to show it off at future shows and also in my new house!

Inspiring Places…Barcelona

As a soon-to-be bridesmaid for one of my good friends, I was recently tasked with arranging her surprise hen do! The bride wanted to go somewhere hot, with plenty of nightlife, a dash of culture and not too pricey. So at the end of June this year, eleven lovely ladies and I touched down in sunny Barcelona and it didn’t disappoint!

Now I’m not going to reveal too much about the hen-do antics as, well… what happened in Barcelona, stays in Barcelona… and all that! Instead, I’d like to share an insight into the city with my designer’s hat on. For art and design lovers, Barcelona really does have it all!

With my passion for architecture, Barcelona has been on my ‘places to visit’ wish list for quite some time. It’s renowned for this, with its striking mix of old and new, alongside the ornate, extravagant works of Antonio Gaudi. It was awe-inspiring to see the architecture in person and to soak up the culture of the city. Below are some of my favourite patterny finds.

I think I feel a new design coming on!

Coming Soon… New Prism Collection!

Some of you may have followed my recent newsletters, in which case you’ll already have seen a few sneaky peeks from my new Autumn/Winter 14 collection. For those of you who haven’t, don’t worry! The new collection is called Prism and I’m thrilled to reveal the full range at last!

Launching in September, Prism takes influence from contemporary architecture, magnificent clock towers and breathtaking botanical gardens. Some of my personal favourites from the range include the Prism fabric; this prominent new print is inspired by light dancing on skyscraper windows. The hot coral red and pops of turquoise and yellow will certainly pack a punch in your living room. The bright and fresh Glasshouse cushion is a perfect antidote to darker, chilly evenings and the charming Flowerpress tea towel is almost too precious to use.

I’m also very excited to introduce new teacups and notebooks to the collection. They make ideal gifts and stocking fillers. In fact, I loved the notebooks so much I decided to have some more made up in some of my earlier designs. These particular notebooks will be available slightly earlier, from mid July.

If you’d like more information about Prism please feel free to get in touch.
